We have a winner -- almost.
Yesterday was Michigan Magic Day 2008 in Ypsilanti. I had a fantastic time.
Once again I entered the close-up competition, and this year I came in first place ...
Yeah, I know, that's second place. But I still came away with more money than I went in with, which is not a bad thing. I chose a set of three routines that everyone seemed to enjoy, including Coins Through The Table and a card routine originally designed by Tommy Wonder.
A wonderful lady by the name of June Horowitz gave me compliments after my performance. There's almost nothing like high praise from a past president of the International Brotherhood of Magicians.
After that were lectures by Martin Cox and others, as well as the evening show -- and the two-hour drive home, let's not forget that.
All in all, a successful day.
