Some things don't work out the way you plan.
Yesterday I had a show for the crew from Mid Michigan Music Shop. Rick Allen, from whom I have bought two guitars and an odd number of picks, invited me to entertain everyone at the Golden Glow Ballroom in Saginaw.
I had thought that I was going to do a stand-up show in front of all the people, like 30 minutes worth. Instead, I wound up doing magic table to table, for a few people at a time.
This is not my strong suit. As everyone knows, I walk on my hands because I must use crutches to get around. Therefore, I have to sit down at the table in order to make something amazing happen, and I know that can seem intrusive.
Nevertheless, almost everyone in the place was personable and receptive to the entertainment I had brought, and everyone had a terrific time.
Plus, after the festivities were over, I stayed to beat a couple of the guys at pool. Then I left.
Thanks, Rick, for inviting me to make your evening amazing!
