Moore solutions = more sicko.

Michael Moore thinks that we need more government to solve our health care problems in America. I couldn't disagree more.

If we're currently spending the most of any country on health care -- and show me where that's a problem -- then wouldn't a government takeover be purposed to spend less? I can't think how spend less other than to ration care. World magazine reported July 14 that "many Canadians come to the U.S. to pay for life-saving treatments rather than die waiting for their tax-funded medical care to kick in."

While Moore rips his own country with hard cases from America, he glosses over other sad stories from those in countries he would have us emulate. France has a severe shortage of doctors and nurses; nearly 15,000 people died there during a 2003 heat wave. Why is that statistic absent in Moore's movie?

There are tradeoffs to everything; no government safety net can take care of everyone. "Compassionate" elites will never put themselves under the system they would create for others. They will keep their private options open, while restricting (rationing) choices and opportunities for the less well-off.

In France the top income tax rate approaches 50%. They also have a Value Added Tax of almost 20%, besides a "solidarity tax" on wealth. These are some of the reasons that France ranks at the top of Forbes’ Tax Misery Index. How many more taxes do you want to pay? How much more do you want to depress business owners and job seekers?

Socialized medicine is not for us, U.S. We have problems because of government interference. We need to take shackles off instead of putting more on. If Michael Moore wants to convince me France is better, he can start by moving there permanently.
