I was hoping that the release last week of the new Harry Potter book would increase audience levels for the new movie, but I guess that didn't happen. I was scheduled for four shows at our local cinema, but was only able to perform two.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has been out for two weeks, and audiences this afternoon were quite light. I had envisioned myself performing for a few theaterfuls of people, having to use my personal amplifier to make sure everyone could hear. As it was, I brought my little stool up the aisle in order to play to the small number of people gathered in the middle.

It went well. I did about three tricks each time, promoted my name and thanked the cinema for opening the opportunity to me. Hopefully, when the next Harry Potter movie comes out, I'll be able to swing a few opening weekend gigs. That would be much more fun for me, not to mention getting me much more exposure than the 20 or so people I met today.
