New Year's Resolution

OK, I've had it!

I'm sick of performing magic for people who only think that it's their purpose in life to catch on to how it's done!

I had this experience with some kids the other day, and I think I was so nervous--knowing their attitudes--that I overcompensated and blew two or three effects. They were a couple that I consider my favorites, too.

That's it! I give up!

My new attitude is this: If you don't think magic is fun for entertainment, if you don't think that it's just cool to feel purely amazed at something without trying to tear it apart intellectually, then I don't want to perform for you anymore.

I'll save my energy for people who stare agape and say things like, "That's too crazy!" They're the ones who are worth all my practice, and all the passion for this art form that I can give them.
